JAPAN - SHIRAKAWAGO
Shirakawago is in a remote mountain area between Takayama and Kanazawa. It is famous for its traditionally built wooden farmhouses some of which are over 250 years old, which can be visited. The village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
